The current LSAT, without Logic Games
The LSAT changed in 2024: the Analytical Reasoning section, known as Logic Games, was removed. The scored sections are now two Logical Reasoning sections and one Reading Comprehension section, plus an unscored experimental section, and a separate unscored writing sample. Scores run from 120 to 180. Because many older books, videos and forum posts still teach Logic Games, part of our job is helping you spend your hours only on material that is on the test.
We confirm the current format with LSAC, the organization that administers the exam, at the start of every plan, since test details and scheduling can change. Registration, test dates and fee waivers are handled through LSAC, not through us.
How we approach Logical Reasoning
Logical Reasoning is the largest share of your score, so it gets most of the time. Rather than memorizing a list of tricks, we work by question family: strengthen and weaken, assumption questions, flaw, inference, parallel reasoning and principle questions. For each family the student learns what the stimulus is really doing, what a correct answer must accomplish, and the two or three ways wrong answers are built to look right.
- A diagnostic on official LSAC practice material to find your weakest question families.
- Drills in short sets, then timed sections, then full practice tests.
- A wrong-answer journal where you write why the right answer wins, not just that you missed it.
- Pacing work, since many strong readers lose points to the last five questions in a section.
Reading Comprehension
Law-school reading passages are dense, and the questions test structure and author attitude as much as detail. We teach passage mapping: marking the main idea, the author's position and the shifts in the argument as you read, then answering from that map instead of rereading. This is the section where steady daily practice pays off most, so we assign short passages between sessions.
A schedule that fits working applicants
Many LSAT students are working full time or finishing college. We schedule around that, including evenings and weekends where available. A three-month plan is common for students who can commit a steady number of hours each week; a longer plan makes sense if the target score is a large jump from the diagnostic. We will not promise a specific score. What we promise is a plan that is honest about where you are and a review process that makes each practice test teach you something.
Applicants in the area are often targeting programs such as the law schools in New York City and Westchester. Our goal is simply to get you to the score you need, wherever you apply. Admissions decisions depend on much more than the LSAT, and we do not claim any affiliation with any school.
Format, price and location
LSAT tutoring is $100 per hour. Sessions are online over live video by default, which works well for the timed-section review this exam needs. In-person sessions are available at a public spot or at your home in Manhattan, Westchester, Brooklyn and the other areas we serve, with a travel fee based on location agreed in advance.
