From Park Slope to Bay Ridge to Flatbush

Brooklyn spans a huge range of neighborhoods and schools. Students may attend Brooklyn Technical High School, Brooklyn Latin, Midwood High School, Edward R. Murrow High School or one of the borough's many independent and parochial schools. What they share is a need for tutoring that fits real schedules and travel times, which is why we offer online sessions as the default. We tutor students from any school and are not affiliated with the schools named here.

Test prep: SAT, Regents and LSAT

High-school students in Brooklyn often balance a demanding course load with travel and activities. Our SAT preparation starts with a diagnostic and builds a plan paced against the test date, and our Regents prep covers the ELA and U.S. History and Government exams, scored against the official rubrics. Regents are scheduled in January, June and August across New York State.

Brooklyn Law School is in Downtown Brooklyn, and applicants from across the borough apply to programs in the city and beyond. The LSAT is the same wherever you apply: two Logical Reasoning sections and one Reading Comprehension section, scored 120 to 180. We help you build a schedule and practice-test routine that fits around work, and we do not predict admissions outcomes.

Technology and creative learners

Brooklyn has a lively tech and creative scene, and many teens and adults here want to learn how to build for the web. Our web development lessons begin with HTML and CSS and work toward a real project, which suits portfolios and small businesses. Introduction to AI explains how modern tools work and how to check them, and personal finance covers budgeting and credit for freelancers and first-time earners. Those are educational lessons, not investment advice.

Younger students

Reading and writing, math and homework help and study skills support students in elementary and middle school. Sessions are live, check for understanding throughout, and end with notes for parents. See also college and adult tutoring.

Meeting in Brooklyn

Online tutoring needs only a device and internet. For in-person sessions, we can come to your home or meet at a public spot such as a branch of the Brooklyn Public Library; the Central Library at Grand Army Plaza is the largest, and each branch sets its own hours and rules. In-person sessions carry a travel fee based on location, agreed before booking.

Choosing between online and in person

Brooklyn commutes can swallow an evening, so most families choose online sessions, which make it easy to fit tutoring between school and dinner. In-person sessions make more sense for younger children, students who find it hard to focus on a screen, or families who prefer to have the tutor at home. Whichever you choose, the rate is the same, and in-person sessions add only a travel fee that we quote before you book. You can also start online and switch to in person later, or the reverse, if your needs change.

Price

Tutoring is $100 per hour for every subject. Five, ten and twenty-session packs lock in a weekly slot. Nearby areas we serve include Manhattan, Queens, the Bronx and Westchester.
