Learn by building something real

Many beginners follow a tutorial, copy the code and never understand what they typed. Our approach reverses that. We choose a small project that matters to you, such as a personal site, a portfolio, a page for a club or a small business, and we learn each piece of web development as the project needs it. By the end you have something that works and the understanding to change it.

The path

We keep the stack simple at the start. Frameworks come later, once the fundamentals are solid, because a student who understands plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript can pick up any framework faster.

For teens

Web development is a good fit for teenagers who like making things. It teaches logical thinking and patience in debugging, and a finished project is a satisfying thing to show family or include in a college application. Parents get session notes describing what was built and what comes next. Students who are curious about the technology behind modern tools can pair this with our Introduction to AI track.

For adults and career changers

Adults arrive with different goals: building a site for a side business, understanding what developers do before hiring one, or testing whether a career in tech is the right move. We tailor the project accordingly. We are an honest guide about what is realistic: a few months of lessons will give you solid fundamentals and a first project, not a developer job on their own. What you need to get started

You need a laptop or desktop computer (a tablet is not ideal for writing code), a modern web browser and a free code editor, which we help you install in the first session. You do not need to buy software or courses. Bring an idea for a first project, even a rough one. A page about a hobby, a team, a family business or a favorite recipe works well, because your own content keeps you motivated through the harder parts of learning.

Between sessions we assign short practice tasks, usually thirty to sixty minutes of work. Coding is learned by doing, and small, regular practice beats a marathon once a week.

Format, price and location

Web development tutoring is $100 per hour. It is well suited to online sessions with a shared screen, so the tutor can see your code and you can see the result right away. In-person sessions are available at your home or a public spot in Brooklyn, Manhattan, Westchester and elsewhere in the area, with a travel fee based on location agreed beforehand.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need any experience?+

What will I have at the end?+

A working project that you built and understand, plus the fundamentals to keep learning on your own.

How much does it cost?+

$100 per hour, online or in person, with a location-based travel fee for in-person sessions.

Will this get me a developer job?+

Not on its own. It gives you real fundamentals and a first project. A career change takes longer, and we will be honest about that.
